KUB is proud to provide a service where local waste haulers can discharge domestic waste collected from conventional septic tanks as well as sewege waste from portable toilets.

This service helps protect the environment and keeps the community preserved for everyone to enjoy.

 

Getting Started


Here is how to get started with KUB's Hauled Waste Program:

  1. Review the Hauled Waste Program Requirements. Read carefully to ensure compliance with the program.
  2. Contact KUB at (865) 524-2911 to set up a billing account for a waste hauling business.
  3. Complete the Waste Hauler Application and submit via email to wastehaulerprogram@kub.org

KUB will review the application and contact applicants directly if there are any additional questions. KUB will contact applicants once the review is complete to provide a permit number and the credentials needed to access the Hauled Waste Site at the Kuwahee Wastewater Treatment Plant.

 

Requirements


All waste haulers must be knowledgeable of the Hauled Waste Program Requirements and operate in a manner that adheres to the safety signs posted onsite and that complies with the program. 

  • Only licensed and permitted waste haulers can utilize site
  • Trucks must provide their own 4 inch female disconnect and hose.
  • Company name and permit number must be visible on the back of the truck
  • Security access numbers for each truck will be deactivated if permit is not renewed annually

Only domestic septage waste originating within Knox County or one of the eight counties that border it are eligible to be discharged at the Hauled Waste Site.

Domestic waste is:

  • Septage waste collected and treated in a conventional septic tank 
  • Raw untreated sewage waste (Examples: pump station or portable toilet waste).

Disposal Site Safety


Please read all safety signage at the Hauled Waste Site prior to intial discharge to ensure saftey compliance.

Pressurized discharges are prohibited.

Direct discharges to the ground or the drain is prohibited.
