Green Switch Match Program

TVA EnergyRight® Green Switch Match allows residential and commercial KUB customers the opportunity to reduce their carbon footprint by signing up for 100 percent renewable power for their homes or businesses. 

Customers enrolled in Green Switch Match will purchase green power in a quantity matching their monthly electric consumption by adding one cent per kWh to their bills. Electricity is made up of 100% solar power generated in the Tennessee Valley. For the typical residential KUB customer, participation in Green Switch Match can help reduce a customer’s carbon footprint by more than 8,000 lbs of CO2 emissions per year.

Green Switch Program

TVA EnergyRight® Green Switch program (formerly known as Green Power Switch) gives residential and business customers the option to support renewable energy generation in our region. For each $2 that Green Switch participants add to their electric bills, a block of 200 kilowatt-hours of energy from 100% solar resources will be generated and placed on the TVA electric grid.

Green Flex Program

TVA EnergyRight® Power REC program (formerly known as Green Flex) program allows businesses and industries inside the Tennessee Valley to purchase out-of-Valley wind renewable energy certificates (RECs) to reduce environmental impact. Each REC represents one megawatt-hour (MWh) of renewable energy generated and delivered to the power grid. When you purchase RECs, you are purchasing the environmental attributes associated with the renewable energy generated.

Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) Program

KUB offers commercial and industrial customers solar, biomass, and hydropower Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for purchase. Each REC represents 1 MWh of renewable electricity generated helping customers meet and report emissions reductions aspirations. 

The benefits of KUB RECs include:

• Flexible options: RECs are available in custom quantities that fit individual footprints and budgets.
• Verified sourcing: RECs offered are purchased by KUB from power generated in the Tennessee Valley.
• Simple process: The program offers a quick sign-up process, transparent documentation, and straightforward invoicing. 

Solar RECs are $5 each, and non-solar RECs are $2 each. RECs will be available on an annual, first-come, first-served basis. 2025 and 2026 RECs are now available.
