Extreme weather events, such as a snow storm or a heatwave, can cause customer usage to spike.

Levelized Billing helps keep bills level, regardless of the weather.

When customers sign up for Levelized Billing, KUB takes a rolling 12-month average of the customer's usage and bills them for the average usage.

It’s beneficial for customers to enroll months ahead of extreme summer heat or winter weather to experience the benefits of receiving a levelized bill instead of higher bills caused by those seasonal spikes.

The graph above demonstrates the difference in bill amounts for customers enrolled in Levelized Billing compared to those with traditional billing.

The rolling 12-month average will vary slightly every month to reflect seasonal usage changes.

Customers are encouraged to stay enrolled in the program for at least XX months to allow their monthly bill to level out.

If a customer un-enrolls from the program, they will be responsible for any outstanding usage.
